Design, Development Resources I Use

Here are a few go to resources that I use as reference, inspiration, and idle perusing...more to come.

  • A List Apart - A good aggregate for website design tutorials, especially font usage...
  • iStockphoto - I often find images I can use for a project. (Sometimes not...). For a price...
  • Lynda.com - which I've used for years. It requires a subscription, but is often worth it for many     subjects, from the latest version of HTML, CSS, and JQuery widgets to the latest Adobe
        application iteration.
  • HTML Ipsum - Pellentesque habitant morbi tristique et netus et malesuada ac turpis egestas.
  • IE CSS Bugs - I say f$%^ 'em and don't design for IE6, but if you must...
  • jQuery Tutorials for Designers - A good tutorial on how to get started w/ jQuery...
  • W3C Schools - A good resource for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc...
  • PHP Manual - If you find me here, call for help...
  • Moo Business Printing - A good resource for inexpensive business cards I've been told...'gonna     have to get a business card sometime.

Music...

I've worked in musical instrument sales. I've represented and worked for product manufacturers who sold music gear to those who are in musical intrument sales.

And because I am a musician, I am always searching for music, new and old...and for music gear, and topics related to cool gear, who used what, and how to use gear....

What can I say? It's in my blood...more to come.

  • Steinberg USA - The progenitors of computer-based multitrack sound recording software, and
        former employer.
  • House of Guitars - Rochester, NY - Amazing place...displayed guitars sideways because they had     so many...
  • Portland Music - MLK - Portland's best music store IMO. Eric Warlamount runs a great shop...
  • Spotify - Some complain about their copywrite practices, but hey it's the 21st century, and they have     all my favorite 60's music...
  • Synth Museum - For the person who wants to know the difference between the OB-1 and OB-8.
  • How To: Order Your Guitar Pedals - There are no hard and fast rules, and yet...
